About the CompTIA 220-1001 A+ Core 1 exam

CompTIA's 220-1001 certification exam is the first of two exams to be passed before earning your A+ certification. This exam measures the necessary competencies of an entry-level IT professional for necessary hands-on experience in working with configuring and/or troubleshooting Windows PCs. The 220-1001 certification tests your understanding of computer technology, networking and security, as well as the communication skills and professionalism that will be required in the field or within an organization.

The second exam required to earn CompTIA's A+ certification is A+ Core 2 (220-1002) exam. The 220-1001 and 220-1002 exam exams together enable one to achieve A+ Certification. A+ certification is ISO 17024 Accredited (Personnel Certification Accreditation).

What to expect in the CompTIA A+ Core 1exam?

This test consists of multiple-choice questions. There are no case study type questions and the test is not adaptive. You will be required to attempt approximately 90 questions in 90 minutes. To pass, you need a score of 675 on a scale of 100-900.
